Annabelle Chvostek, former member of the Wailin’ Jennys (plus writer of some of their most popular songs) and now a solo artist creating just as much of stir with her rich voice and haunting lyrics is touring the UK in November 2009.
Whilst with the Jennys, Annabelle composed one of her best known songs The Devil’s Paintbrush Road which was a U.S. folk radio No 1 in 2006. Last year she released the compelling album Resilience which was nominated for the Contemporary Album of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. It includes a song co-written with the legendary Canadian singer songwriter Bruce Cockburn and the beautiful instrumental Line of Ascent on which she weaves her mandolin magic.
Annabelle’s tour will take in a mix of venues from Lancashire to Wales, the south coast of Sussex to Northern Ireland and London’s Green Note and Twickenham Folk Club. A great opportunity to see this boldly innovative and gifted artist up close and personal.
